Amsterdam dressed in orange to receive the runner-up
Holland received his players with a party as or more impressive than the Spanish. The center of Amsterdam was visited orange to honor the team that reached the World Cup final.
Before arriving at the stage of the Museumplein Square, in front of the Rijksmuseum, the same place where 180,000 people gathered Sunday to watch the finals on a giant screen, players made a tour through the canals of Amsterdam, before thousands of fans that applauded and expressed their appreciation for their wonderful performance in the World Cup.
Around 1,800 policemen are part of a tight security for the event, while in five points of the city, giant screens were installed.
Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende said that “Holland was proud” of his performance, receiving the players this morning.
