A champion retires

Octopus Paul, after a world cup which established him for his incredible predictions on the outcome of matches, retires, according to information from the makers of Sea Life Aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany.

“He retires with a message of deep gratitude to the whole world. He had a fantastic World Cup, “said Tanja Munzig, aquarium spokeswoman.

Paul predicted all the victories and defeats of the German team as well as the last match where Spain was the world champion.

Now the octopus will do what he do best: entertain children who visit the aquarium.

“Despite the avalanche of inquiries that are coming from all over the world, Paul no longer will have to decide between two plastic buckets with mussel meat adorned with the flags of the respective bid teams,” said Munzig, the responsible for the marine center.
