Russia 2 – Argentina 3: Nalbandian is tailored to the Davis Cup

David Nalbandian was once the emblem of Argentine Davis Cup team in a historic victory over Russia in Moscow. Nalbandian beat Mikhail Youzhny 7-6 (5), 6-4, 6-3 in the fifth point of the match, and gave final victory 3-2.

Nalbandian and Youznhy defined the pass to semifinals after Davydenko defeated Eduardo Schwank 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-4 in the fourth match, which put the series 2-2.

Nalbandian, who returned from a halt of three months with a hamstring injury in his right leg, imposed his category and strengh to pull out a game that came more than even. Russia lose at Davis Cup in Moscow after 15 years. United States with Pete Sampras had been the last to defeat them in 1995.

On Dec 17, against France again as visitors, Argentina will look for the Davis Cup finals. The French defeated with a comfortable 5-0 to champion Spain.
