Pakistan: Suicide bomber left 45 dead

An official source cited by the private channel “Express TV” reported that “At least 45 people died and hundreds were wounded in a suicide bombing outside the offices of a government official in the restive Pakistani tribal region of Mohmand.”

According to the report “The attack happened at around 10:00 am local time (05:00 GMT) in the town of Yakaghand of demarcation, situated on the border with Afghanistan.”

And added that “The bomber, who allegedly traveled to the site on a motorcycle, detonated the explosive charge he was carrying while 150 people were gathered in the building of an administrative chief of the office of Mohmand.”

According to the version of various Pakistani media “Several vehicles, dozens of shops and other buildings such as a small prison were seriously affected by the explosion, while security forces cordoned off the area.”

According to Express there are among the dead at least six children and members of the “Khasadar” (tribal police).”

And that “The injured, many of them in critical condition, were taken by ambulance to hospitals in the nearby city of Peshawar, capital of the northwestern province of Pakhtunkhwa, due to the absence of good medical facilities in the area.”

According to a government report “Yusuf Raza Gilani, Pakistan’s prime minister condemned the attack and ordered the opening of an investigation to see what happened.”
