Rio Gallegos: 7 year old boy died affected by swine flu
One child died as a result of H1N1 virus in the city of Rio Gallegos, after being hospitalized over a month.
The 7 years old boy was in intensive care with respiratory distress, diagnosed with pneumonia, according to the medical director of the Regional Hospital of Rio Gallegos, Analía Constantini.
Then, rigorous testing of influenza A virus were positive, confirming the cause of death, although hospital authorities felt that it was not this the main cause but a picture of pneumonia which was complicated by the existence of the virus.
Meanwhile, another child is hospitalized for a similar picture, but in the town of Puerto Deseado.
In addition, there are currently 39 samples that were sent for study to the Malbrán Institute for epidemiological reasons.
