Subway strike finishes with thousands of passengers affected

The strike in the subway service and premetro began as announced at noon and runs for two hours, in the context of the conflict that the unions have with Tram Drivers’ Union (AWU).

The thousands of passengers who daily use this mode of transport, were affected, but as the strike had been announced before; many took alternative routes to reach their destinations.

At 2 pm the service was returned to normal, although the union leaders threatened to make similar measures in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Metrovías put an emergency service during the two-hour strike and said that “from 11:30, all users travel free on all six subway lines and premetro.”

However, the union leaders prevented the departure of the trains which tried to provide that service.
