Subway workers threaten: “If they don’t call us, we will go on strike”

Former delegates of subway, who claim to be recognized as an independent unit, let the passangers to have free access from 5 to 8 pm and threatened with a strike next week.

Néstor Segovia, delegate of line C, warned that if workers are not invited by the Ministry of Labour, they will go on strike next week.

“If they don’t call us, we will stop,” said Segovia.

The subway workers are demanding independence from the Union Tranviarios Automotor (UTA), to function as an independent union.

Metrovías, owner of the service, made no concrete answers, only sent a text where they call to make “every effort within thier power to minimize the action of force.”
