Audiovisual Media Law has a new court ruling against it. The Federal Court of Appeals from Mendoza upheld the Judge Pure Arrabal verdict, who suspended the law for irregularities.

Thus, the appellate judges Otilio Roman Roque, Alfredo Lopez and Julio Demetrio Petra Cuitiño said: “It is able to say that vices, arbitrary and institutional gravity are unwarranted, so we recommend keeping the state of suspension in the law implementation.

Arrabal had ruled against the law on Dec. 21, arguing that it was suspended by irregularities similar to those mentioned. Subsequently, the Government had issued an appeal the first days of February.

In the judge view certain regulatory cracks were carried out in Congress when it enacted the statute.

In addition, Federal Judge Edmund Carbone had been suspended the period of one year, that Clarin group has to sell its companies that exceed the limits established in Rule 161 (period of disinvestment).

Also, Judge Miguel Medina had also suspended the application of that article and those referred to the multiplicity of licenses and the transmission chain.
