Solidarity show ‘Argentina hugs Chile’

The solidarity show ‘Argentina hugs Chile’ began at 4 pm on Figueroa Alcorta y La Pampa, in front of 50 thousand people.

The event is being held to help the country, due to the tragic earthquake that left Chile devastated.

There will participate Gustavo Cerati, Santaolalla, D-Mente, Leon Gieco, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, the actor Ricardo Darin, Andrés Calamaro and Luis Alberto Spinetta and at the time of closure they will be presented all together on stage.

The statement was released through the media, promoters of the show and attendees asked to bring, mainly, mineral water, milk, clothing, diapers and medicine.

The report said “We are looking for every person, every family, every little place affected by the earthquake, so that our goods can be useful.”

Over 35 tons of donations were already assembled, and the goods have to be put in the containers installed on Figueroa Alcorta at intersections with Sucre, La Pampa and Intendente Budge, to deliver them to different schools and health centers in Chile.

Spokesman for Red Solidaria, Juan Carr, said that “We, along with Leon and Ricardo want to tell they that they are not alone, we want to give them a deep hug, because they are our brothers. That’s the message we want to send through art , which has a different strength.”

At 21:15, already above the 100 thousand people present and the donations come in at 60 tons.
