The President slams the opposition for their attitude in the Senate
In the sowthern town of El Calafate, referring to the foiled attempt by opponents in the Senate to reject the appointment of Mercedes Marco del Pont as governess of the Central Bank, the President said, it was a move to unstabilize the government.
According to the bank’s charter, the Senate must approve the president’s choice of the institution’s head.
Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner continued saying that while some politicians only insult and rant, “we still do”, adding: “No one pays the debt with speeches.”
She also highlighted “The harsh treatment suffered by Marco del Pont”, who was there “to giver explanations” but nobody raised any questions. According to the Head of State, the opposition was not interested in the explanations.
Fernandez de Kirchner warned: “those who believe that attacking me can make me fall, do not know me me” and stressed “I will continue to work very hard for my country”
The head of State also congratulated and thanked the “men and women of the Armed Forces who set an example with how they perform their task” in the three hospitals that Argentina sent to the Chilean town of Curico.
