Independiente took advantage of River beating them by 2-0 to reach the top of the Clausura standings. Dario Gandin and Andres Silvera scored  for the Red Devil.

The match was even, with River close to finding their style of play, but sadly they always seem to end the matches the same way: exposing themselves with the need of going all out to trail because of being in disadvantage after mistakes in key plays.

The real difference today was just that. Two key plays.

Dario Gandin at 31′ seized an error from River’s back-line to finish well face to face with keeper Vega.

Then Andres Silvera, who had a good game, ended a nice team play that River was unable to stop at 60′.

After that, it was all Independiente, driving fans crazy with some nice team-ñplay and short passes. Luckily for River, with around 15′ to go, Americo ‘Tolo’ Gallego gave order to his players to stay back and defend.

Yet again, River tried, but their players are uneasy when thinking in the best way to cruise a match. They just seem to be far from knowing what to do to win matches.

Instead, all is joy in Avellaneda, reaching the top of the table, and getting better with every match.
