Some 63,000 people enjoyed last night’s concert by British band led by Chris Martin at the Monumental and through a major concert they showed why they are one of the most important groups of the current music scene in the world.
The concert opened the Coldplay tour of Latin America presenting his latest album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), but also the thousands of fans were able to chant his previous hits from the album A Rush of Blood to the Head and X & Y.
The concert opened with “Life in Technicolor” when a screen was displayed on the back of the stage with the image of Delacroix iconic work “Liberty Leading the People”. The energetic sound rattled the stadium with widespread applause from the audience.
Then they continued with the songs “Violet Hill”, “Clocks” “In My Place” and “Yellow”, one of the greatest band hits. In total, the list included 25 songs wrapped in a large staging.
The fresh deployment of Chris Martin made the fans delight, especially when he tried to speak Spanish. He even threw his harmonica to the public after he interpreted songs from his old repertoire, but even among them he included Billy Jean by Michael Jackson, in honor of the late King of Pop.
Thus, the English quartet composed of Chris Martin (vocals, keyboards, and guitar), Jon Bcukland (guitar), Guy Berryman (Bass guitar), Will Champion (drums) presented a concert with a high level, with an excellent sound and games visuals that included public participation. Thousands of butterflies flew through the air Nuñez, at the end of the show and all contributed to a veritable feast of music.
