If anyone feels like seeing a horror film alone in a theater, can earn 10,000 dollars
A director from India issued a challenge for people who ensure that his new movie is not scary. He will give a reward to the brave people who feel like seeing the film alone in a theater.
Ram Gopal Varma’s “Phoonk 2,” a sequel to his 2008 film of the same name, is about an evil spirit that traumatises a family. “Anyone who says the movie cannot scare him is going to be put in a theatre by himself,” Varma told reporters in Mumbai at an event to promote the movie.
Varma said the film fan who steps up to the challenge will be wired up to a heart monitoring machine as well as a camera that ensures they keep their eyes open during the whole movie.
The director has used this type of promotion before, but he was accused of having an arrangement with the contestant, who ran out after 30 minutes.
But newspaper reports in Bangalore that a fan bought all the tickets to prove he was wrong and saw the film alone with a doctor on hold and security personnel stationed at the exit. On that occasion Varma gave no validity to this person’s victory.
