Rash of thefts in Pilar is being investigated

A shopkeeper was assaulted by a group of masked men in Lagartos Country Club in Pilar. It is being investigated whether the gang that $70,000 is the same that robbed two houses in Club Universitario de Buenos Aires (CUBA).

The incident occurred last week but it was learnt today. The trader, 38, was startled in his sleep in his home in Lagartos Country Club, located on kilometer 46 to Pilar.

“The thieves were not violent. They put on seals on the victims and ran away with some electronics and a large sum of cash,” said a judicial source.

Attorney from Pilar, Leonardo Loiterstein is in charge of the case. He is also investigating two robberies in CUBA.

“It is still too soon to draw conclusions, but because of the modus operandi, the number of criminals, the seals and hoods, we are going to investigate whether it is the same gang that robbed CUBA,” said one officer.
