Sandro’s public wake: The Congress was already opened due to the amount of people in the street
Yesterday a multitude gave a public wake to Sandro in the Hall of Lost Steps, despite the 35 degrees heat. At the night their fans continued in the queue, but this time under the rain.
When Olga, Sandro’s wife, saw so many people in the street, requested to close the doors of the Congress at 2 am, and at 5:30 am were opened again. Lot of people is waiting to enter and give their last goodbye.
After the funeral, Sandro’s body will be taken to Gloriam de Longchamps’s cementery, where he will be buried.
Police sources reported that “more than 40 thousand people attended to the Congress since the doors of the Hall of Lost Steps were opened”.

At night, famous people like Susana Gimenez, actor Victor Laplace, Buenos Aires Culture Minister Hernan Lombardi, journalist ‘Titi’ Miguel Fernandez, Fernando Bravo, chief of staff Aníbal Fernández and ‘cacho’ Fontana attended at the Congress.
Sandro’s body will be taken from the Congress to the cemetery between 2 and 3 pm, going from Combate de los Pozos to Avenida Belgrano and finally to Avenida 9 de Julio. In Avellaneda after passing the bridge, the guard of honor of the Federal Police will give the coffin to the Buenos Aires police, and the procession will continue along Avenida Hipolito Yrigoyen, known as Pavon. This escort is done because Sandro was declared ‘illustrious citizen’.
Once in Banfield, they will pass in front of Sandro’s house and then will continue their journey to Gloriam’s cemetery, in the town of Longchamps.
Roberto Sanchez’s body was veiled with its coffin opened, covered with a silk blanket. Those who saw him realized the singer’s health deterioration on his face.
