Olga Garaventa, the woman that was with Sandro the last six years of his life
15 years was the time than Sandro spent going out with Maria Elena Fresta, when he realized that his true love was Olga Maria Garaventa, niece and secretary of his agent, Aldo Aresi.
Since then, six years by now, Olga became the unconditional woman that helped Sandro in the most difficult moments of his life, especially in the fight against the disease that took him to death.
“It was an unexpected love” described the singer about his relationship with Olga. “When phoned Aldo, she was there. In fact, she spent thirteen years there and I only stared at her. But one afternoon I really saw her “said Sandro in an interview done by the newspaper ‘La Nación’ some years ago.
“It was a ‘goodbye kiss’ on the cheek, when we went to Rosario. That kiss brightened everything. I was traveling and could not speak. In that moment I though: “What is this? Am I crazy? I have 60 years old.”
“I was driving and could not think. I was confused. So I open the cell phone and call her, and said:” I have a kiss my chained in my lips and you have the key to that kiss. “She thought: “He was wrong, he meant it to his wife.” I called her again and said: ‘What I had said was meant to you! “The days passed, a few phone calls, until, well, it happened”
That was the beginning of a relationship that was crowned with a marriage in 2007, after three years together. The ceremony was held in his house in Banfield and was the first and only marriage that Sandro has had. The singer remembered being “very happy” at the time.
Olga helped him whenever he needed it and always showed great strength against the transplant received by the singer. However, the stress was too much and suffered from an intestinal infection and had to be hospitalized.
After the news published Sandro’s death, Mirtha Legrand revealed to ‘America’ news channel in a telephone conversation, the conversation she had with Olga. She told that Olga has said that: “He died like a king.” And, that Sandro had said years ago that “Olga was the “queen” that appeared in my life” at his 59 years.
