The strike by LAN airline workers ended after the representative of the Association of Aeronautical Personnel (APA), Sergio Mercau, told reporters that the general manager of LAN, Gustavo Lopetegui, contacted the union leaders and offered them to reach agreement.

Company representatives and union representatives will gather outside the Ministry of Labor in order to unlock the conflict, which led to a surprise strike this morning, affecting hundreds of passengers at the Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (Buenos Aires’ domestic airport)

Company executive, Pablo Querol said he was “surprised by the strike, as at 11:30 am there is a meeting scheduled with the Vice Minister of Labor, Noem Rial, for the conflict on wage restructuring” and described the strike as “a form of pressure.”

All canceled and delayed flights will be rescheduled, according to company spokesmen.

This was the third strike in less than a month and affected carriers LAN and Aerolineas Argentinas.
