Aeroparque Airport: LAN workers go on strike

Many passengers of  LAN airlines were affected by canceled and / or delayed flights scheduled for today in the morning due to a surprise strike by union members claiming wage increase.

The company reported that “at 11:00 am a meeting is scheduled at the Ministry of Labor.”

The surprise strike would be, according to its promoters, due to ‘the lack of agreement in their meeting on Wednesday, between union and management of the company’, several unions are involved in the conflict.

At the Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, there were many passengers stranded. “All LAN flights have been affected by this measure”, said Pablo Biro, vice-president of the Airline Pilot Association. “This is a serious threat to our work, so we are now debating what our next move is going to be.”

The delayed flights are to: Neuquen, scheduled for 6:50am , 7:10am to Cordoba and to Mendoza at 7:20am , while were canceled the flight to San Juan, at 11:55 am , 11:55 am San Carlos de Bariloche and Salta 12:40 pm.
