AMIA: Telledín will be prosecuted again

The court ordered a new prosecution for lawyer Carlos Alberto Telleldin in the AMIA case. Telleldin is accused of having built the Traffic van that blew up at the establishment.

The National Chamber of Criminal Appeals ordered a new trial to “consider, analyze and assess the evidence incorporated during the first 16 months of instruction”.

The ruling is relative to what happened with former judge Juan Jose Galeano, who was deposed in 1995 after committing serious irregularities in the investigation.

In any case, the Court considers that what has been done by the judge until September 1995 is valid.

Telleldin’s hearing was conducted during Galeano’s “impartial” management.

But in 2004, by deciscion of the Federal Court No. 3 and the confirmation from the National Chamber of Criminal Appeals, the investigation on Galeano was declared invalid and ofr that reason Telleldin and some Buenos Aires province police officers were released.

Now, with the premise that the Court considers that the investigation on Galeano was impartial until September 1995, and since Telleldin’s imprisonment was ordered at that time, the case against the lawyer and car salesman is reopened.
