Argentina is the country with the most Facebook users in Latin America

Argentina is the country with the most Facebook users in all of Latin America and also made it to the global top 10. Mexico and Brazil are in second and third positions respectively.

According to a research by Global Monitor Report, the country has 7 million active users, representing 2.61 per cent of the total population of the site.

Anyway, it is expected that Argentina will not last long at the top of this list. Although in the last week  more than 600,000 Argentines joined the network to reach almost 7 million users, Mexico has grown by more than 700,000 and has a much larger population so is expected to surpass Argentina soon.

Brazil’s case is somewhat similar, third in our region due to the success of Orkut, a social network owned by Google which only has presence in some regions but with great success among Brazilians who slowly are also joining Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg’s social network  has 40 million users in Latin America, as much people as the is in our country.
