Esteban Echeverría: Wounded, detainees and traffic hold-ups due to protest
Demonstrators from various social organizations protesting against the Esteban Echeverria’s Municipality were attacked with rubber bullets by policemen when they demanded inclusion in the “Argentina Trabaja” employment plan.
The march was held this afternoon in front of the municipal building, but before the of authorities’ refusal to receive the delegates, the demonstrators hurled stones at the front of the building.Against this, the policemen who were stationed at the front, repressed the demonstrators in order to protect the municipal palace. and three policemen were wounded during the riots.Civil society organizations gave another version of the events. “We were waiting for an answer to our request of employment outside the City Hall when the police came over and repressed us. 15 demonstrators were detained, among them two women and a minor,” said Ayelen Alvarez, from the Frente Popular Dario Santillan.

Social organizations reported that they were promised to be included in the program “Argentina Trabaja” three months ago, but that they weren’t included yet. “We were going to be included, but we’re being left behind, same as with all programs launched by this government,” said Alvarez.
Moreover, they claimed that the plan is used to “increase patronage in Greater Buenos Aires” and they harshly criticized the program because they just join “the friends of the mayor”, Fernando Gray.
