Germany: Emotional tribute to Robert Enke

The German national team and about 40 thousand people, paid their last respects today at Hannover stadium to goalkeeper Robert Enke, who committed suicide on Tuesday by jumping into the train tracks, due to a depression that began with his daughter´s  death.

Theo Zwanziger, president of the German federation (DFB) repeated “Football is not everything” in the farewell to the player during the commemoration ceremony and that ‘was considered one of the most important in the country. ”

Martin Kind, president of Hannover 96 said “Robert, you were the number one.”

The German national team players walked one by one before the coffin, before starting the ceremony, set amid the AWD-Arena.
