Influenza A: The President announced that Argentina will produce the vaccine
President Cristina Kirchner announced today that Argentina will soon start producing vaccine against influenza A, according to a decree signed in the last hours deemed to be of ”national interest”.
The president stressed that the production of the vaccine “will require substantial investment and will require the recruitment of 250 highly qualified professionals.
She also revealed she had signed a decree to declare the news as “national interest”.
Last winter, the influenza A pandemic in Argentina left 600 people dead, according to the latest report by the Ministry of Health, and it affected more than 1,200,000 people. In first world countries the new vaccine was developed in record time and it’s already being used.
