Elisa Carrio is acquitted from the case of libel and slander against Duhalde
Federal Judge Maria Servini de Cubria found Elisa Carrio innocent from Eduardo Duhalde’s charges against her for slander and libel.
“Duhalde controlled drug trafficking in the province of Buenos Aires,” said the elect deputy in the court of Comodoro Py. However, Carrio assured that she never accused him of being a “drug dealer”, nor did she filed a lawsuit.
The former president’s accusation is founded on Carrio’s statements in 2005, who had accused Duhalde of being “the greatest reponsible for drug trafficking in the country”.
At the trial Carrio apologized to Duhalde and she said that she had never filed a criminal offense against him.
Thus, judge Maria Romilda Servini de Cubria acquitted Elisa Carrio. Duhalde had filed a lawsuit against her after feeling affected by Carrio’s statements over an interview.
