Macri criticizes the Government for the protest on 9 de Julio Avenue
The city’s mayor, Mauricio Macri, said that dealing with this issue is a political decision. Picketers are still camping outside the Social Development Ministry demanding solutions.
Speaking to the press, Macri said that his administration has already requested to the Justice to vacate the street. But he said the decision to do so depends on the Government.
“We asked the national government to vacate 9 de Julio Avenue. Handling this issue in this way is a political decision. The decision has to be taken by the national government,” said the PRO’s head.
He expressed his rejection of the protesters’ measure and their imposition on the citizens’ human right: “It’s necessary to change the protests’ organization. They have to be done in a different way, people can’t take it anymore.”
He said: “Prosecutors asked the national Government to vacate and the police don’t follow the order”.
The picketers who were camping in the city’s downtown say that the new plan is administered by the mayors in order to keep their political intersts with the electorate.
