Italy: Pasquale Russo, Salvatore’s brother arrested yesterday along with other Camorra members

In the town of Irpinia, in Campania, Italian police arrested Pasquale Russo, who along with his brother Salvatore, led one of the major Camorra clans.

Pasquale Russo, 62, was seen with his brother, considered one of the thirty most dangerous fugitives by the Italian courts since 1993.

In Sperone, Avellino, where he was hiding, early today, police stormed  succeeded in arresting Pasquale Russo another brother, Carmine, 47, who was also considered since 2007 as one of the most wanted criminals.

Pasquale Russo, is  real brains of the family, he had been sentenced to several life sentences for murder and Mafia association.

Spokesmen for the police reported that “the fugitive was found hiding in a tunnel behind a wall of the kitchen and at the time of the arrest he was armed with a rifle and a pistol, but did not resist.”

These arrests were “a blow to the organized Camorra in Naples” who also had control over illegal activities in the town of Nola.
