“El Secreto de Sus Ojos” competes for Goya awards
The decision was made by members of the Argentine Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Juan Jose Campanella´s film, with more than 2 million viewers in the country and a huge success in Spain, also participated, without the expected success of San Sebastian festival.
The Goya film awards are the main distinction of the Iberian Peninsula, which each year further distinguishes the best of its local production and the best Latin American film.
36 of the 58 votes of the Academy went to the film starring Ricardo Darin, leaving on second place to “Las Viudas de los Jueves” and in a tie for third place with “El niño Pez” and “Anita”.
Only in January it will be known whether the film will enter the race for Hollywood Oscar contenders and in February it shall be known if a similar fate in Spainis followed, although this is already enough reason to celebrate.
