Authorities confirm swine flu death

Argentine health officials confirmed the death of a 61 year old woman due to a H1N1 virus infection at Cordero Hospital in San Fernando district,  Buenos Aires province.

The patient had been hospitalized for several days in the public health center affected by a respiratory illness that forced doctors who treated her to perform tests and determine if she endured a H1N1 virus infection.

According to sources, Abete Hospital -head of the metropolitan region for diagnosis and treatment of swine flu- certified that the deceased woman had the disease.
