Axel, the little hero who saved his father’s life after a car accident

Little Axel (6),  was traveling in a pick-up truck with his dad when the man lost control of the vehicle and overturned. They both were throun out by the force of the impact. The man was badly hurt and his son, with great bravery, ran for help and ended up saving the life of his father.

Axel was fortunate to find a truck on its way to the daily ‘El Diario de Cuyo’ , among the passengers were a journalist and a photographer who rushed to help the child and his father, named Gustavo Videla. The accident occurred on Route 20, Km 11, between El Encón and Caucete, in San Juan province, Argentina.

The photographer was the first to arrive. Then another car stopped and fortunately the dramatic story had a happy ending.

“Axel … the truck” were the first words the father muttered yesterday at a hospital in San Juan.

Jessica Paez, Axel’s mother, says her husband and son were returning home in his truck at the time of the accident.

Doctors reported that the bouy was unhurt, just a couple of scratches on his leg.

Thanks to the courage of the child and the involvement of the journalists, the man could be taken to Brown Hospital in San Juan City. He is now out of danger although he remains hospitalized.
