President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner defended today the increase in family allowances and stressed that “those who have more must have greater social responsibility.”

In a ceremony in the Racing Club stadium of Avellaneda, the head of state led the presentation of the new phase of the plan launched by the Ministry of Social Development to fight poverty, with a projection to create a total of 100 thousand jobs throughout the country.

“Those who have most need to have greater social responsibility. We need to continue growing and offering equal opportunities in the country. No one must thank anything. This should have happened spontaneously.”

“Family allowances are the most fair and distributive instrument in the context of wage policy, at a time when no one speaks of wages in the world,” she said.

“Today the world speaks of the ongoing decline of employment and the mortages that can’t be afforded.”

The ceremony was attended by the Social Development Minister Alicia Kirchner, after having accepted the resignation of Deputy Emilio Persico, following the arrest of his son while taking marijuana in an official vehicle .
