Cristina Kirchner met with the BID head in New York

President Cristina Kirchner met with Luis Alberto Moreno, head of the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) in New York, with the aim of seeking new credit.

According to the state agency Telam the Head of State and Moreno discussed various issues on the relations between Argentina and the credit bank.

The meeting was also attended by Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana, the governors of Chaco, Jorge Capitanich, Gildo Insfran, from Formosa, and the Argentine representative of the BID Eugenio Diaz Bonilla.

The President seeks to negotiate loans from the agency to promote social projects in Argentina. The hearing was held at the Four Seasons Hotel, which housed the head of state and her entourage.

Following the hearing with Moreno, the President’s official activity, who arrived yesterday at the Gran Manzana, will continue with a meeting with General Secretary of Latin America, Enrique Iglesias.

During the second day of activities in the United States she will take part in the UN General Assembly and the Summit of the G-20.

In the afternoon, at 17:30, the President will participate in a global leadership forum to be held at Columbia University, where the international economic crisis will be discussed.

The president met yesterday for over an hour at the Four Seasons hotel with the Nobel prize economist Joseph Stiglitz, with whom she shared criticism to the IMF.
