Proyecto Sur (South Proyect) and Safety and Equality (SI) expressed their support to the President’s announcement on the exclusion of the telephone companies in the Broadcasting bill.

The Safety and Equality party and Proyecto Sur took as good news the government’s decision of modifying the Broadcasting bill that is being debated in the Lower House, which has eliminated the interference of the telephone companies in the television media.”

Carlos Raimundi, SI deputy, said: “A big hurdle is being cleared, such is the presence of the telephone companies in the bill proyect we’re supporting.”

Raimundi also added that “Anyway, we don’t want the telephone companies to keep up the monopoly.”

Claudio Lozano, Proyecto Sur Deputy, said that the change promoted by the officialism may be decisive to vote for the initiative.

Lozano added that “We will define the vote with Proyecto Sur and CTA. It may turn up as a positive vote. But I want to see it in written beforehand,” and that “we must move forwards with the authority that the federal component must have and that depends on the Parliament. But the telephone companies issue was fundamental.”
