Unbelievable: Youngster was fined for expelling a gas

flatulencia

It happened in Styria, one of Austria’s most conservative states. A young man was fined 50 euros for expelling a  flatulence next to a policeman. And he was accused of “threat to public safety.”

The “offence” occurred in during a beer party where a 20 year old boy expelled a gas in the presence of police officers. He then accused the author of the “crime” of violating the regional legislation, according to the text of the complaint.

“You were present in a police action and as a person not involved you expelled a gas in the proximity of an agent, which caused a roar of laughter among those present. With this, you have breached the regional legislation,” said the unusual complaint verbatim.

A lawyer from Graz, capital of Styria, said the offender was fined for violating the second article of the Security Law that punishes any lack of respect for authority.

The young “delinquent” could have been charged with higher penalty because, according to security forces,  he would have given them the finger while expelling a flatulence.

The man, whose identity was not released, wanted to quickly fix the situation and paid the fine of 50 euros imposed by the agents on the spot.
