Michael Jackson´s funeral to be held today

The King of Pop will be buried in Glendale, California, in a mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, in the midst of a fight for the ceremony´s expenses.

Costs will be defrayed with money from the fund he created to manage  his estate, according to a resolution ruled last night in Los Angeles.

Unlike what happened with the security costs of the memorial in honor of Michael Jackson, which were paid by the city of Los Angeles, the cost of his funeral will be paid almost entirely by the artist´s emporium.

The singer’s mother, Katherine, requested that the trust fund ran Michael Jackson Family Trust with the funeral expenses and so authorized by the judge, who nevertheless clarified that the amount allocated shall be determined by John Branca and John McClain, managers of that society.

It is believed that Michael’s body lies in a chamber of the graveyard, and will find eternal rest in the Terrace of the Great Mausoleum , a restricted area that will keep his grave protected from curious fans.

The Jacksons decided to honor the king of pop in an event limited to those closest to him though, despite his desire for privacy, the event will attract global media attention as has happened with everything related to the artist while he lived, and even more after his death last June 25th.

It was anticipated that the singer will be buried at 7:00pm local time (02:00 GMT Friday), as confirmed Jesse Derris, representing public relations agency Sunshine & Sachs, hired by the family of the artist to  communicate with the media.

The local police will block streets 24 hours before the funeral and will turn Forest Lawn cemetery in a private bunker.

In the same cemetery other celebrities as Clark Gable, Carol Lombard, Jean Harlow, Bette Davis or David Carradine also rest in peace.

Marlon, one of Jackson’s brothers, said the singer’s three children have written letters to his father to be buried next to him, as well as one of his famous white gloves.
