Buenos Aires province: traffic fines rise today

Decree 532/09, which regulates  provincial Transit Law 13,927, enters into force at 12 am today inthe province of Buenos Aires.

It includes the National Registry of Offenders, and driver license points or scoring for drivers.

A driver who is passing a red light will be fined between 960 and 3,200 pesos. Speeding fines will range from 480 to 3,200 pesos.

For failing a breath test, the fines will be between 960 and 3,200 pesos, if refusing to take the test, the driver will be fined  between 1,600 and 3,840 pesos.

Parking tickets will be between 320 and 960 pesos.
Not having insurance means you pay between 160 and 1,600 pesos.
For not using a seat belt fine is between 160 and 320 pesos.
Bikers not using a helmet will have to pay between 160 and 320 pesos.
