Gardel Awards: Spinetta wins golden statuette

The persons in charge of Capif (Chamber Producers’ Argentina of Phonograms and Videogramas) announced this morning the winners of the Gardel Awards 2009.

The most awaited award, the Golden Gardel, was for Luis Alberto Spinetta for his album “Un mañana”

The  Orozco-Barrientos duo was the winner for the better album of alternative folklore with  “Pulpa”

The special Award to the artistic and musical Trajectory in this opportunity was for Cacho Castaña.

On the other hand, The Fabulous Cadillacs were recognized as Personality of the Year 2008.

In the 11th edition of the Awards there was a whole of 183 artists nominated, distributed in 42 categories. And this yearthe ceremony was cancelled due to the situation of sanitary emergency for the swunie flu pandemic.
