Monaco, the first Argentine victory in Hamburg

Juan Monaco defeated  7-6 , 6-3 Russian Mikhail Youzhny and advanced to the secound round of the German tournament. On the other hand, Juan Ignacio Chela fell 6-4, 1-6 and 6-1 to Frenchman Julien Benneteau.

It was not a good beginning for the Argentinians in Hamburg . Chela had been defeated by Frenchman Benneteau and joined those who said goodbye yesterday: Máximo González and Vassallo Argüello.

But Juan Mónaco appeared and achieved the first Argentine win in the German tournament. His next rival will be José Acasuso.
