Air France: France to compensate crash families
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva says the French government will compensate the families of the Air France crash victims.
The Brazilian leader says French President Nicholas Sarkozy told him that France would “take the responsibility to pay the indemnity for all the families that suffered.”
Silva says this includes families from Brazil, France and elsewhere. The plane had 228 people on board.
Silva and Sarkozy met in Geneva on Monday for the first time since Flight 447 crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on May 31 carrying 228 people from Rio de Janeiro to Paris.
