600 Euros penalty for tying up with a sheet an elder in old people’s home
In Almeria, Spain, a geriatric residence has been condemned to the payment of a fine for 600 Euros in the municipality of El Ejido for tying an eighty-year-old with Alzheimer’s disease up, with a sheet at a height of the belly, to one of the columns of the dining room of the establishment exposing him to this situation to the rest of the elders.
The two daughters of the victim reported the abuse, attaching many photos, against the residence San Alvaro in September, 2007. The Board of Andalusia opened disciplinary administrative records and resolved to impose two fines for 3.000 and 600 Euros.
