Businessman close to former Argentina President Cristina Fernandez was arrested for alleged money laundering

Buenos Aires City.- Federal judge Sebastian Casanello orders the arrest of businessman Lazaro Baez, just when he arrived to Buenos Aires from the south of Argentina, in San Fernando Airport.

Báez, who was accused of being impersonate man in fraudulent business of former presidentes Cristina Fernandez and her late husband Nestor Kirchner, was cited on Thursday to declare in front of Casanello in the case for alleged money laundering.

The nearby employer to the Kirchner family will remain detained at the Research Unit located above the police station 23 of the Federal Police located at Santa Fe Avenue and Gurruchaga St., in the neighborhood of Palermo, until his statement that could occur tomorrow or Thursday.

Court sources reported that the judge ordered the preventive detention of Báez after the businessman boarding a private jet in Santa Cruz to Buenos Aires, due to assessing the risk of flight.

Baez was arrested by the Airport Security Police and the Federal Police after his arrival on his plane Lear Jet registration LV-BPL where one of his sons was traveling also, but not Martin, who must testify before Casanello on Friday and was not arrested.

The judge ordered the investigation after a couple of weeks ago a video showing Martin Baez and other defendants counting wads of money in an office of SGI company, known as «La Rosadita» in Puerto Madero.
